About Grandma Gail
After retiring from her tech career, Gail found fulfillment in pursuing her passion for baking and gardening on her small homestead in Green Cove Springs, Florida. She and her husband Mel transformed the property into a haven for biodiversity, cultivating a lush garden filled with a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs, and maintaining several colonies of bees for pollination and wildflower honey. Gail is a skilled baker, with a particular talent for crafting artisanal sourdough bread. Her sourdough bread quickly became known for its tangy flavor and chewy texture, made with a starter she nurtured and cherished like a member of her family. Gail's primary goal is to live in harmony with the land and to share the fruits of her labor with her family and community. She dreams of expanding Grandma Gail's Dough House cottage bakery to include an online farm store where people can purchase her homemade bread and honey, fostering a deeper connection between consumers and the sources of their food just like her generation did.
